How do you respond when you hear God’s voice? This psalm invites us to listen to God and worship Him with joy and gratitude. It warns us not to harden our hearts like the Israelites did in the wilderness, when they tested God and rebelled against Him. It reminds us that God is our creator, shepherd, and rock of salvation, and that we are His people and flock.
This psalm challenges me to examine my attitude towards God and His word. Do I listen to Him with an open and obedient heart, or do I ignore or resist Him? Do I praise Him for His goodness and mercy, or do I complain and doubt His love? Do I trust Him as my guide and protector, or do I rely on my own strength and wisdom?
Remember that God speaks to us in many ways: through the Scriptures, the Church, the sacraments, prayer, creation, and other people. He wants us to hear His voice and follow Him. He also wants us to worship Him with joy and gratitude, for He is our Lord and Savior.
Ask Yourself
What can I do today to listen to God’s voice more attentively and respond to Him more faithfully?
Let Us Pray
Loving God, help us to hear Your voice and harden not our hearts. Teach us to worship You with joy and gratitude, for You are our creator, shepherd, and rock of salvation. Lead us in Your ways and keep us close to You. Amen.
